The version of the civics test you will take depends on the official ‘Received Date’ shown on your USCIS receipt notice.
Applications received by USCIS before October 20, 2025, take the 2008 civics test, while those received on or after October 20, 2025, take the updated 2025 version. You can confirm your official date by checking the “Received Date” on your official USCIS receipt notice.
